Unhappy question: how to record the WoW interface?

im a new member of this site and i like it allot! but i keep wondering what these people use to record the footage... also the editing of some movies seems done by professional people...

are the programs they use bought in the store or is it shareware ( well i just wondered if it might be available in shareware )

I always used gamecam, but that's probably not the best one out there. But yeh, you can easily get a freeware/shareware program to record ingame activities. It just takes alot of space on you computer though.
As for editing the movies, I suppose they use programs like Macromedia Flash or stuff like that. Basically, they import the movie file (probably .avi) into an animation program, edit it, and export as movie file again.

Gamecam: http://www.computergames.ro/site/p/d...ecam_v1.2.html
Macromedia Flash Trial: http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/...ShockwaveFlash
Article about conversion: http://www.macromedia.com/devnet/fla..._to_video.html

That's my hunch.

We convert your movie file to flash for you. Just shoot your video with Fraps, GameCam or your favorite video capture program. Then edit the video footage in your favorite video editor, like Windows MovieMaker or Adobe Premiere, or FinalCut.

Export your video as .wmv, .avi, or whatever works best for you. Then upload to WCC!

FOR MAC USERS:
I didn't think about using my mac to capture cause I just used fraps all the time, but if anyone does want a video capture program for mac.....here it is.

I use Gamecam and the usse windows movie makerv2.0 to do the editting. Gamecam ca record for as long as you want and fraps only for 30 seconds.... You be the judge.
