No, the quickest way to get gold is to get it yourself. Earn it, spend it, and be happy. Otherwise, we're all just letting someone else do all the work for us. How lame, and besides; it deprives us of the experience of making said gold in the first place.

Time to let bygones be bygones... No more gold selling/buying.

Agreed, get a group of friends together and adventure. Enjoy what you find and earn a living by living. Those that pay real money for imaginary money lose the value of what an item truely is worth. Its not necessary to enjoy the game.

Hey Ciel, any way I can become a mod, with the express purposes of shutting those goldsellers down? I DO love doing that, plus I check the site daily, so I'd catch anything pretty readily.

Just thought I'd toss it out there. Something to consider.

I have nothing against people who buy gold. I do have a bone to pick with people that spam or even advertise on other peoples forums about Selling gold or Power leveling services.

I myself have never bought gold but I have thought about it. The fact that I work full time and a family means I can't play the game 24 / 7 like some people. Another thing to look at is that what would take me about 1/2 hour of real work (real money made) to buy gold that would probably take many many hours of senseless grinding to accumulate the same ammount of gold playing the game.

While that is all true, Grumash, I have to ask you; then why do you play the game in the first place?

I wouldn't play a game just to be up to par with other players. Isn't a game supposed to be about the fun you're having while you're actually playing it?

The thing is that the working class can't put in the same time as people who don't have jobs don't go to school ect. The time we put into the game is to level up and get to the same point as everyone else in the game IE lvl 60 and raiding ect. Since we barely have enough time to just level we rarely have time to "Farm" for gold and its just easier to spend a tiny bit of your cash to get in game money.

I am currently deployed over sea's for 6 1/2 months.... during this time I can't play WoW due to the lack of internet connection that is not firewalled. When I get back home in December do you think I want to spend allot of hours mindlessly trying to farm gold or do you think I would rather actually be playing? I make an extra $1400 / month on top of my regular pay while I am over here and I don't feel it would hurt if I bought a little in game gold so that my character can equip himself and and enjoy him ...do you?

Well, maybe in your case it does pay off to buy ingame cash, but still, it is kinda unfair to those people who play the game enough to get where they're at (even if they're lousy bums with no jobs, which will undoubtable be your reply ).

In other news, I do think that you actually have the advantage of having more fun in the game than the power-levelers. Think of it this way, those people play and play and play, forgetting what they're actually playing for.. If you went to a beautiful park for the first time in your life, you would enjoy it alot more than those people that come there daily. You could appreciate it more for what it is.
And also, getting to level 60 is NOT a recommended thing; it isn't required to enjoy the game fully. Granted, the whole leveling and getting better sphere is what the game rides on, but still it's alot more fun (imo) to do so slowly while enjoying the game for what it is rather than what you make it to be. Once you're level 60, I promise you you won't regret taking the time. Level 60 may be fun the first week or two, but then the fun drops as fast as a rock falling from a cliff.

Really, there's way more fun in doing it in your own speed, then letting the competitive spirit of the game and others dictate at which speed you should be moving.

People like you keep the goldselling business alive. It's cause of people like you I can't enjoy the game as much as I used to cause of people spamming their goldselling website in IF, people whispering me with goldadverts and people mailing me with goldadverts. Thanks for ruining the fun for the fair players cause you are a greedy jerk that doesn't play a game the way it is supposed to be played.
And on a side note, I probably play as much as you do, yet I got a lvl 60 character and got it into raiding during a period I was only able to play during the weekends.
If you can't stand looking less to other people stop playing online games and go cheat on singleplayer games, there are RPGs there too.
I hope Blizzard will kick all the goldbuying accounts some day, then the goldselling business will stop anyway, and the people that know how to efficiently farm money for themselves on their own will be rewarded again for their skill.
Have a nice day killing other peoples fun.

Hey numb nuts a little info for you....I HAVE NEVER PURCHASED GOLD ON ANY MMPOG. I played EQ for almost 6 years, EQ2 and WoW a few months after it came out.

I have 3 level 60's and a few more that are close including a 58 hunter, 55 priest, 54 warrior. All of those levels where gained without buying gold or power leveling. I was just pointing out that I have considered buying gold for reasons I stated before.

My point is that there is no difference between someone that works 40-60 hours a week and buys some gold online and the no life puke who plays the game 24/7 and has everything he could ever want except a real life.

A friend of mine purchased gold so that he could buy epic mounts for his alts because he would rather play the game then spend a ton of time farming gold for each of his alts. I really don't see a problem with it.

When it comes down to it WoW is just a game and if people want to spend some real life money so they can enjoy it then all the more power to them. Just like in real life those that WORK hard get to PLAY HARD.

I would say most of the people that complain about buying gold are the ones that sit at home on welfare and play WoW and then complain because they can't afford to buy WoW gold themselves.

Peace
